"Profile Of Antinous Mercury Gilded Medallion Circa 1815"
Medallion after the antique, oval in shape, representing the right profile of Antinous in mercury-gilded bronze. The very finely chiseled profile with matt gilding on a burnished gold background. Excellent condition, note two slight "flats" on the outer edges at the ends of the frame. French work from the Empire or Restoration period around 1815. Dimensions indicated without the ring.
