Oil on double-sided cardboard by the breton painter Robert LALOUE.
This painter lived only 45 years, his oils are not very common, indeed, we find a majority of watercolors.
He was born in 1884 and died in 1929.
This interesting painting has 2 very different faces: one that is signed in the bottom left represents a breton village with bold fawn colors.
To report some material shortages in the bottom of the table, but nothing serious. (Additional photos on request).
The other side represents a symbolist scene, naked nymphs honoring a statue that seems to represent the God and satyr Pan, son of Hermes and Queen Penelope, yet married to Ulysses.
The colors are bold again, the bodies of these naked women being punctuated by vibrant yellow touches.
We feel the influence of Art Nouveau and impressionist painters.
Format: 56 cm x 46 cm.
