"Dragon Head Slide Whelk Empire Period Early 19th Century"
Rare brass slide whelk composed of a circular tube with a single winding ending in a dragon's head opening its mouth with its teeth, old traces of polychromy in gold and green with the inside of the mouth red, ending in a stylized tail. It has its slide system in its lower part (the mouthpiece is missing) This object has old restorations, a copper patch, old welds, dents and the missing ring at the end of the trombone. There must have been an annotation on the ring at the level of the head, presence below a small monogram that is difficult to decipher. Rare object from the Empire period, early 19th century.
