"Elegant And Elegant Austrian-hungarian Silver And Cut Crystal Centerpiece Bowl, Circa 1860 "
Silver and cut crystal centerpiece bowl, Austria-Hungary, circa 1860 Elegant and imposing silver and cut crystal centerpiece bowl, dating from the 19th century. This Austrian or Austro-Hungarian work, circa 1860, is distinguished by its refinement and the finesse of its execution. The finely cut crystal bowl features a diamond-point decoration and acid-etched frosting, giving a satin effect and a subtle translucency. Its outline is delicately bordered by a pearl frieze, emphasizing its elegance. Two large, richly chiseled silver handles frame the piece, adopting a baroque scroll movement, enhancing the whole with a touch of opulence. The solid silver base, finely engraved with plant motifs, rests on a weighted circular base, ensuring perfect stability to the whole, even when garnished with fruit or other dishes. It is supported by four lion-headed feet richly decorated with foliage scrolls, typical elements of the Rococo or Neo-Baroque style of the mid-19th century. The cup is removable and fixed thanks to a central screw system, allowing its easy maintenance.
