Superb pair of Louis XVI style 5-light chased bronze candlesticks, 19th century. Round base decorated with rows of pearls, ova and acanthus leaves. Shaft very richly chased and encircled with cords with also ova and rows of pearls. The start of the light arms is carved with acanthus leaves as well as along the entire length of the arms with various very finely made ornaments. The sockets are topped with bobeches with rows of pearls. Superb work of very good quality. Very good general condition: 1 very slight deformation on the base of a foot of 1 of the 2 candlesticks. Height: 50 cm. Width: 34.5 cm. Base: 14.8 cm.
