"Louis XVI Period Clock"
A so-called "portico" clock in chiseled and gilded bronze and black and white marble; the shock absorber formed by an eagle with outstretched wings holding a thunderbolt, the sides with garlands on a terrace with flowered vases. The movement is supported by pilasters with console uprights and columns; quadrangular base with a moving facade with reserves with geometric motifs and rosettes; small skate feet. The enameled dial, signed "Caillouet à Paris", indicates the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in increments of fifteen in Arabic numerals. The movement works. Louis XVI period.
