"Art Nouveau Library, Nancy School"
Beautiful and large art nouveau bookcase with 3 doors and 3 drawers in solid blond walnut, late 19th century. It opens with a large central projecting door and two smaller ones on either side. These three arched doors at the top, decorated with acanthus leaf carvings in the corners, are fitted with old, beveled glass. In the lower part, 3 drawers decorated with foliage scrolls in bas relief, fitted with bronze liana pull handles. These 3 drawers have a double sliding bottom that can be removed if necessary. This bookcase rests on 6 turned legs and a small counter-profiled ogee molding. Bookcase topped with a cornice overlooking a bas-relief carved decoration representing foliage scrolls, scrolls and acanthus leaves. Furniture of extreme quality made of solid walnut (Nancy school quality). All the bases and backs are in walnut veneered oak as well as the height-adjustable shelves. Bookcase completely dismountable and in perfect condition.
