"The Heights Of Kouba / School Of Algiers / Leygonie"
Leygonie, born in Algiers and a student of Antoni, exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1927. A "landscape near Kouba" is mentioned there. He produced oils rooted in their time with symbolist and academic tendencies. This suburb of Algiers took its name from a koubba built in the 16th century. The view is magnificent. Oil on strong cardboard (52x36cm) in very good condition, located and dated 34. Beautiful work of the sky, excellent classical craftsmanship.
