Bust portrait of Queen Marie-Antoinette, wearing a tiara, an antique dress and a cape trimmed with ermine, her wig adorned with a tiara. The biscuit porcelain bust rests on a porcelain pedestal painted in Sèvres blue and enhanced with gold fillets with the first name Marie Antoinette. This model represents the future Queen, young when she was the Dauphine of France, after the model by Boizot in 1774 which is exhibited at Versailles. Sèvres marks under the bust and under the base S71 (1871), gilded in Sèvres in 1888. Napoleon III - 3rd Republic period. Our bust is typical of the Marie Antoinette vogue brought back into fashion by Empress Eugenie who had great admiration for her, with a print dating from the end of the Second Empire, at the time when the Royalist Assembly almost reestablished the Monarchy with Henri V, the Count of Chambord. Beautiful royalist object. If this bust after Brachard has been reissued with more or less talent in different materials, this one is the most prestigious version since it is signed Sèvres like the original. Excellent condition, no accidents. Height: 27cm
