"After John Of Bologna: Mercury "
A lovely souvenir of the Grand Tour, Mercury leaping, holding a purse in one hand and his caduceus in the other. This famous statue by Giovanni di Bologna (1529-1608) is one of the masterpieces of his production, which one could not resist bringing back as a souvenir of a trip to Florence. The model presented (35 cm) is from the middle of the 19th century, with a lovely finish and a beautiful brown patina. (a small scratch on the buttock) It is placed on a reddish-brown marble base.
