Alexandre Jacques Chantron (1842-1918) was a French painter specializing in portraits, female nudes and mythological scenes. Trained by Auguste Toulmouche and William Bouguereau, he adopted a refined academic style, characterized by attention to detail and delicate light. Initially oriented towards religious and historical painting, he evolved towards sensual and elegant compositions. He exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1865 and received several distinctions. His work, influenced by Bouguereau, reflects the academic aesthetic of the late 19th century.
