"Large Plaster Sculpture By Pol Spilliaert"
Large sculpture “The girl of Adrienne” from 1962 in plaster by Belgian sculpter Pol Spilliaert (1935-2023). This sculpture was the first and original artist proof of the 'Girl of Adrienne', later the artist made the sculpture in stone. His sculptures reflects the artist’s signature style by combining organic and geometric forms, creating an interesting sense of tension. Pol Spilliaert studied sculpture at the La Cambre Academy of Art in Brussels where he was taught by notable figures like modernist architect Leon Stynen , graduating as laureate in 1959. This work is listed page 8 and 9 of the book on Pol Spilliaert by Jaak Fontier edition Lannoo.
