Occasional pedestal table in mahogany and mahogany veneer. Tripod-shaped, decorated with chiseled bronzes, the top with a brass gallery is inlaid with white marble. The pedestal table bears the Maison Giroux à Paris stamp engraved on the gallery. Louis XVI style, Napoleon III period, before 1867. The Maison Alphonse Giroux is one of the most famous cabinetmaking and tableware shops in Paris, active from 1799 until the end of the Second Empire. Nicknamed "The Merchant of Princes", he developed an aristocratic and bourgeois clientele in France and Europe. From 1799 to 1848, he operated his business at 7 rue du Coq Saint Honoré in Paris until 1867 before being taken over by Fernand Duvinage. Beautiful, refined little piece of furniture, perfectly suited as a side table for a cup of coffee, a glass or a bouquet of flowers. Excellent condition, French polish redone by our cabinetmaker.
