Desk Clock Inkwell Depicting Narcissus C. 1820
Desk clock, in patinated bronze, mercury-gilt bronze and silver-plated bronze, depicting the myth of Narcissus admiring his reflection in the water. The clock face depicts a fountain at the top decorated with an antique mask and flowing into a silver-plated bronze river. Movement in openwork, chiseled and gilded brass. A drawer in the lower part reveals a writing desk with inkwells and pen holder. Uncommon. Very good condition, circa 1815-20
