Born in Oran in 1911, Madeleine Scali first trained at the École des Beaux-Arts d'Oran and then at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris until July 1939. Returning to Oran for 18 years, she settled permanently in Paris in 1957. She exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1957 and 1958, and then became a member of the Salons d'Automne, the Salon des Indépendants, and the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. Her compositions, characterized by their simplicity, where the use of color and light is reminiscent of Cézanne's explorations. This artist is listed in Bénézit, volume 12, p. 349, 1999 edition.
