"Charlotte Perriand Cansado Mahogany Bench, Circa 1962."
The "Cansado" bench is an iconic piece of furniture designed by Charlotte Perriand for the MIFERMA company in the 1960s. It was specially designed to furnish the apartments of the company's executives in the mining town of Cansado in Mauritania. The bench's design is resolutely modern and easy to integrate into a contemporary interior. The frame and base of the bench are made of black lacquered steel, while the seat is made of 13 mahogany slats. The cushions have been reupholstered in Nobilis Mont Blanc Aqua wool cloth. The original edition of the "Cansado" bench was produced by the Steph Simon publishing house between 1959 and 1967. This piece of furniture has become a design benchmark and is a testament to Charlotte Perriand's visionary work. Steph Simon Edition, Circa 1959 - 1967.
