"Horizontal And Rectangular Mirror With Glazing Beads In Gilded Wood, Lion Decor, 19th Century"
Impressive mirror with glazing beads in carved and openwork gilded wood and stucco, from the Napoleon III period, decorated with lions. Our mirror is oriented horizontally, a beautiful foliage decoration in the Renaissance style adorns its entire perimeter. It is topped with an imposing pediment representing two lions in confrontation surrounding a blazoned decoration surmounted by a plume falling on the front of the frame. The mirrors of the glazing beads are old and all have small oxidations (see photos). The central mirror is beveled and was therefore probably replaced in the middle of the 20th century, it is in very good condition. We note lacks and retouching of gilding on all the moldings of the mirror, old cracks without gravity and classic on this type of object are also present (see photos of details of the object). Imposing and very decorative piece. Length 135cm Height at the pediment: 140cm // at the sides 115cm Depth: approximately 12cm Dimensions of the central mirror: 82.5cm // 62cm
