He was a student of Mr. Van den Brempt in Antwerp and of the Geneva School of Art (advertising design). He designed the stand of the Belgian Maritime Company for Expo 58 in Brussels. He painted numerous seascapes, and scenes in which he depicts ships in a sometimes alienating setting. He completed a painting assignment for NASA, earning him the title of Official Artist of NASA Mission 41. Note that the previous owner trimmed the right side of the panel in order to fit it into the frame.
