"Poul Henningsen (after), White Artichoke Pendant Light, Large Model"
PH Artichoke – An Icon of Luminous Design
Designed in 1958 by Poul Henningsen for the Langelinie Pavilion restaurant in Copenhagen, the
PH Artichoke is a masterpiece of Scandinavian design and lighting engineering. Composed of
72 metal leaves arranged in 12 rows, it provides a soft, glare-free illumination from any angle. Inspired by Henningsen’s research on light diffusion, this sculptural luminaire has become a true
timeless icon, still on display at the Langelinie Pavilion. Its elegant aesthetic and exceptional functionality make it an essential piece of modern design.
