"Manjoosh Exotic Wood Commercial Furniture, India – Early 20th Century"
Superb Manjoosh cart from the early 20th century, made of solid wood by Indian artisans. This unique piece is decorated with numerous painted tiles, each protected by a glass pane. These tiles depict animals or deities in bright colors. The central section has a flap at the top that lifts up to access a storage area with secret compartments accessible on the sides. Below, two small doors open onto a very large storage space the size of the piece. This cart, mounted on four casters, is notable for its numerous carved decorations, adding to its artisanal and traditional character. On the front, the upper section is adorned with wooden bells and relief carvings. The tiles are surrounded by engraved friezes and painted frames surrounding each tile. This piece of furniture, reflecting Indian culture, will delight lovers of exotic furniture.
