"End Of The 18th Century - Bone And Boxwood Reliquary"
Splendid relic holder in bone and boxwood, manufactured in central-northern Italy between the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century.
It has a refined turned bone shaft, a boxwood base carved with circular motifs and the upper part, intended to contain the relic, has a perforated bone rosette and a rear lid, with a screw opening, also made of perforated boxwood.
All crowned by a carved bone cross.
The refinement of these carvings on this very small object make it an example of rare value.
The conditions are overall good, but there are minimal chips at the base of the bone shaft and on the perimeter of the bone rosette, as well as a slight lack in the lateral rays (magnificently worked) of the relic holder.
An object of rare refinement and quality.
