This Majesty, splendidly carved, is characterized by the contrasting color and transparencies given by the Baltic black amber: in some places intensely dark, in other places transparent and bright.In full Gothic style, the looks are serious and there is no empathy between the two subjects. However, the right hand of the Virgin encircles the Child's body with strong warmth and the left almost seems to seek the hand of Christ intent on playing with the robe.Some small cracks are related to the material and do not constitute damage or defects.The conditions, considering the age, are excellent.The charm of this small Majesty, combined with the value of the material, makes it a unique and highly desirable piece.
