The man is lying on what appears to be a bench, his left leg bent on the bench, his right extended on the ground. He supports his head with his right hand, his gaze turned towards the ground. Very beautiful rendering of the powerful musculature. Background hatched in black chalk. Signed Louis...ring or ...sing. Dated 1838, with mention of an illegible place.
