Magnificent kilim from Bergama / Balikesir in Northwestern Turkey. The main characteristic of this kilim is the exclusive use of two shades, deep blue and carmine red. Some patterns are highlighted with white cotton edging. The pattern that runs across the central field and seems to be eating its tail is that of the dragon.
