Ferdinand PITARD (1850-1894, French School) is a portrait painter, born in Mondoubleau (Loir-et-Cher) in 1850, committed suicide in Tours (Indre-et-Loire) in 1894. A pupil of Lucien-Léopold Lobin and A. Deschamps, he made his debut at the Salon of painting and sculpture, generically called the "Salon", in 1879 with portraits. He exhibited in 1880, 1881, 1882 (see photos). He is still quoted at the Salon of 1890 exhibiting portraits of General Vicomte de L. de T. and portraits of EFP. Several of his works are kept in museums, such as the Museum of Fine Arts in Tours (Alsacienne en deuil and portraits of the artist - approximately 20 paintings).
