Pencil drawing on paper, probably by a student of David representing one of the Horatii, detail of the famous painting "The Oath of the Horatii" completed in 1785 and kept at the Louvre.
The drawing dated "June 12, 1827" is presented in a beautiful gilded wooden frame from the Empire period (accident camouflaged on the left part of the frame and some missing parts on the corners).
Beautiful finesse in the treatment of the face, the beard as well as the helmet.
