Roger Desserprit was born on March 9, 1923 in Buxy and died on November 4, 1985 in Paris. He is known for his contribution to geometric abstraction and his participation in innovative artistic movements in the 20th century. In 1939, he began studying painting and drawing under the direction of M. Schomberg, then M. Darbois. Between 1941 and 1943, he attended the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris. His career was marked by his membership in the MADI movement. In 1957, he won first prize at the Bordeaux Biennale, followed by the honorary award shared with Etienne Béothy at the Milan Triennale in 1958.
