Silver-plated steel

Pair of silver-plated steel spurs with large radiating wheels, made up of forty-eight teeth. The prongs are decorated with a rich incised design of granules arranged in friezes.
Handwritten inscription on the inside: ‘Para Nicola y Eranca con Carinoy a Mistad los de Ictus Septiembre de 1972’.
These spurs refer to the attributes of Chilean horsemen, the huasos - counterparts of the Argentine gaúcho. Important figures in Chilean folklore.
