Beautiful work table in rosewood veneer and diamond marquetry. Opens with a moving top revealing a mirror and a large storage space. It rests on four arched legs decorated with chiseled bronzes with satyr head motifs and gilded brass threads on all sides. A small drawer under the table. The lock bears the prestigious stamp "TAHAN Rue de la Paix Paris". Original key and perfectly functional lock. This piece of furniture was made between 1849 and 1866. Maison Tahan was designated Supplier to the King and Princes and in 1855 Supplier to Emperor Napoleon III. Its store was located on Rue de la Paix from 1849 to 1866, before moving to Boulevard des Italiens from 1866 to 1878. Refined piece of furniture with harmonious proportions, ideal for making a living room table... Please note: this table is in very good general condition. It is missing a removable interior shelf. Some veneer chips that do not detract from the elegance of this piece of furniture. The cleaning of the bronze and brass ornaments can be refined.
