In the vein of the models developed around the 1730s, notably by Juste-Aurèle Meissonnier (1695-1750) or François-Thomas Germain (1726-1791), talented and renowned Designers-ornamentalists of the century of Louis XV, attractive Pair of Candelabra in Rocaille attire in gilt bronze forming End Tables with two slightly asymmetrical light arms chiseled on their sinuous body with swirling and enveloping acanthus foliage from which bloom basins, sockets encircled with corollas with petals of Helianthus flowers, twisted canals and half-shells with wavy edges. Intertwined, these wrap around a central shaft with a bulge releasing a flowering stem prettily adorned with blossoming or budded florets. This whole plant composition develops from a circular base with profiles punctuated by twisted lobes, volutes and acanthus leaf clasps. On the back of their base, a capital letter "M" is carved, surmounted by the stylized motif of four star points, - mark of an unidentified Parisian manufacturer of art furniture bronzes.
