"Large Natural Wood Shield Oceania Irian Jaya, Wolmark Collection"
Large Irian Jaya shield in natural wood, stylized geometric decoration probably representing bats in hexagonal frames. This very geometric model in warm brown hardwood is very rare, I have never seen others nor found others on the net. It comes from the Nina and Gilbert Wolmark collection, she was a producer and cartoonist in the 70s (Asterix, Ulysses 31...) and a great collector of Oceanic art. Total height with base 188 cm, good condition. Very decorative curiosity object perfect for a modern or more classic interior.
