Superb and rare 19th cty TRADITIONAL ALGERIAN PENDANT.
The pear-shaped pendant - amulet holder, opens in 2 on its height to receive musk, allowing women wearing it to be perfumed all day long.
This type of jewelry is directly inspired by the so-called Ottoman period (1512-1830)
The central part set in the center of the body is in the shape of a crescent moon, with a star in its center, a recurring motif of Algerian culture until it appears in the center of its flag, and 5 pendants, decorated with raw cultured pearls -mother-of-pearl, and turquoise beads, again take up this same decorative and symbolic motif.
