Rare Blown Glass Plaque, Painted On The Reverse, Flanders, 17th Century. Landscape.

Object description :

"Rare Blown Glass Plaque, Painted On The Reverse, Flanders, 17th Century. Landscape."
Rare glass plate painted on the reverse, to be seen by transparency, lit from behind with natural light, a light bulb, or a candle. Flemish or Dutch style landscape, in the spirit of landscape paintings of these regions, with a very important and cloudy sky, and a slightly hilly countryside, punctuated by trees, a barrier, a microscopic village and even two silhouettes of people. Gouache painting, very delicate and luminous. Impeccable condition of the glass, a very small lack of material in the sky. Rare. Original blackened wooden frame, hanging ring on the back of the frame. 17th century, Nordic countries.
