"Large Luba Female Statue."
Large Luba statue from the DRC, characteristic of their production, she stands with her breasts hanging down on her torso, and this is a sign of beauty and veneration because she is a woman who has breastfed and already given birth. In exotic wood tending towards red with a beautiful black sacrificial patina, note that the lower part of the statue is not patinated which indicates that she must have had a fabric loincloth. Total height 63 cm with the base. Former collection of Doctor LUCAS in Reims.
