Oil on canvas depicting a young lady of quality dressed in a beautiful pink dress. In the background, a Chinese or Japanese lacquer screen. Signed on the left "Robert Fleury" Tony ROBERT-FLEURY entered the studios of Léon Cogniet and Paul Delaroche at the Beaux-Arts in Paris early on. In 1866, he sent a large historical composition to the Salon, and sold it to the French State. He exhibited there from 1868 to 1906. He became a professor at the Académie Julian, then at the Beaux-Arts where he had many students. Gold medal at the Salon of 1870, 1st class medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1878, then gold at that of 1889.
