"Sideboard By Vittoria Dassi Milan 1964"
Vittorio Dassi sideboard, Milan 1964 in rosewood, resting on 4 tall legs and opening with six drawers on the front, the outer drawers are curved towards the sides of the cabinet which gives a very refined aesthetic style. A marble top overhangs this amphilade. Collectors of vintage mid-century modern furniture will find the work of Italian designer Vittorio Dassi and Dassi Mobili Moderni to be elegant and sculptural, brimming with all the clean, angular lines and pleasing symmetry associated with the best offerings of the period. Wood was Dassi's preferred material - he favored rosewood, mahogany, walnut and other species for his highly sought-after sideboards and wall units. While little is known of Dassi's early life, it is believed that his career in furniture design began in 1940 at his family business, Dassi Mobili Moderni, in Lissone, Italy. Soon after, he succeeded his father as head of the company.
