"Yvon Roy (20th Century) For Durtal, Large Ceramic Pitcher, 1960"
Yvon ROY (20th century) for DURTAL. Large glazed ceramic pitcher, signed underneath, 1960. "In 1943, Yvon Roy created a pottery in Durtal and launched his first tableware collections, which quickly became a benchmark. After Mr. Roy's accidental death, the Atelier d'Art was taken over by Robert de Montgolfier. This company is now known throughout the world. Its famous square plates, the "Kyoto" range, are one of its jewels. 73 years later, Yvon Roy would be proud of what the company has become. Bought in 2005 by Delphine Stroesser, Montgolfier is still based in Durtal. The "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" label has confirmed the tradition of excellence that has always been the watchword of this Atelier."
