Shipping costs for France: €20 Jean-Baptiste Ruaud settled in 1833 at 14, rue de Paris in Limoges to begin manufacturing porcelain alongside his raw materials exploitation activity. Driven by progress, Jean-Baptiste Ruaud encouraged Limousin porcelain makers to adopt coal firing, which only became widespread from 1856, the date of the opening of the Vierzon-Limoges railway line. The Ruaud factory was noted for its artistic production but also for its many attempts at technical innovations. It was at the origin of the industrial application of high-fire decoration in Limoges.
