Rare pair of fireplaces in gilt bronze and bronze with brown patina surmounted by two chiseled celestial globes, mounted on shower feet.
Two Cupids perched on a scrolled acanthus leaf, bows drawn ready to release their arrows, form the central scene in finely chiseled gilt bronze.
The rectangular base is decorated with a water leaf.
Beautiful work from the early 19th century, to be compared to the production of andirons and fireplaces by Claude Galle (1859-1815).
Beautiful condition, with original gilding and patina.
Empire period. 1805-1810
