"Antique Carpet, Circa 1850. Caucasus. 110 X 100 Cm"
Very pretty Caucasian rug in a rather interesting compact format. Certainly the piece shows obvious signs of wear due to its age, however the borders are almost intact and the imagination does the rest. Woven and knotted wool on wool. Short pile almost close to the ground. The plant hues are dense and saturated. Very beautiful luminosity and depth. A real little painting! Circa 1850 Some wear.
