"I Learn Everything, Circa 1900"
[PEDAGOGY]. I learn everything. New universal questionnaire. 640 questions. [Paris: Saussine, ca 1900]. Frame dimensions: 37x37x4.5 cm. Educational quiz game consisting of 10 paper discs, each containing 64 questions/answers arranged opposite each other, which are rotated using a central button behind a chromolithographed cardboard on either side of which two windows have been cut out. The “universal questionnaire” game was patented in 1889 by François Pfeiffer, whose initials can be found on the discs of this playful version given by Saussine. Mounted in a later frame, without the original box and the square sheet used to hide the cardboard windows. Complete with the explanatory leaflet. Seems rare.
