Burma, mid-20th century, superb and very important four-tiered offering box in gold, red and black lacquer. The circular shape and the edges of the tiers drawing beautiful curves give this magnificent piece an unusual design. The generous belly of the main body is richly decorated with a rotating decoration featuring figures and animals in a rich vegetal decoration. The quality of execution is impeccable and worthy of the finest Burmese creations in the field of lacquer. These boxes were used by high-society families to carry offerings to the deities and guardian monks of the temples. Substantial dimensions: Height 34 cm. Diameter 37 cm. The scale indicator in the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a well-known brand. Good condition except for slight wear and some rubbing, but nothing abnormal considering its age and without affecting the beautiful aesthetics of this magnificent piece.
