Interesting set including 20 silhouettes with moving elementsShadow theater with a wooden frame stretched with a tracing paper screen (modern) decorated with a chromolithographed facade showing a stage and a curtain, intended to be backlit. The game also includes 66 silhouettes mounted on wooden or horn sticks for some, including 29 simple, 17 perforated and 20 with moving elements, to play shadow shows. The name of the game takes that of a famous Parisian shadow theater, the Théâtre de Séraphin which, installed at the Palais-Royal in 1784, revived shadow shows in France in the 18th century. Box damaged and roughly restored with adhesive tape. It is illustrated by a beautiful colored and erased lithograph showing children attending a shadow puppet performance in an elegant living room, signed by the illustrator Bernard Coudert and dated [18]74. Without the printed story booklet.
