"Beautiful Louis XVI Clock, In Gilded Bronze. Late 18th Century."
"Borne" type clock topped with a gilt bronze subject. The movement with enameled dial, signed "Chantelot à Marseille", is surrounded by 'palmette' motifs and two vine trellis branches, at the bottom. It is suspended 'à fil', complete and in working order. It is topped with an "élégante à la lyre" subject, seated on a stool with curved legs and playing on a lyre with a 'Sun King' motif. The 'borne' rests on a two-level base, placed on four 'ball' feet. It is decorated, on each side, with a 'lyre' motif. Very good condition for this small clock with beautiful gold gilding.
