"Baroque Consolle"
Elegant gilded console table from the Baroque period (Louis XIV), from the Papal State/Rome.
The top is in fake pink marble.
A particularly distinctive detail is the sculpted face of a figure characteristic of the time in the production of the Papal State, surrounded by decorations with plant motifs and scrolls that extend towards the sides.
The legs are richly carved and integrated into a single structure with the base. The lower part of the console table ends with a shaped and decorated base, which gives further stability and a sense of stylistic continuity.
