Collector's interior and homage to Alsatian decorative arts with this impressive work signed Luc Hueber, dated 1920. It includes a beautiful Alsatian chair, a statue of Joseph and Jesus, a stoneware flower vase probably from Elchinger, Betschdorf stoneware, and a beautiful Alsatian credenza, not to mention the small objects from our region which complete this charming atmosphere. Rare subject. Luc Hueber (1888-1974), originally from Sainte-Croix-en-Plaine (Haut-Rhin), is a French painter. Trained at the Strasbourg School of Decorative Arts in the field of stained glass, he perfected his skills in Munich, then settled in Strasbourg. A follower of the Realist movement that marked the Strasbourg scene during the 1920s and 1930s, he was one of the founders of the May group, inspired by Cézanne, alongside, among others, Louis-Philippe Kamm, Paul Welsch, Jacques Gachot, Martin Hubrecht, Simon Lévy. He exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Français, the Salon d'Automne, as well as at the Galerie Drouant and the Galerie Bernheim Jeune. He also participated in numerous exhibitions in Alsace, notably in Strasbourg at the Galerie Aktuarius. Several of his works are kept at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Strasbourg and the Musée de Haguenau.
