"Enameled Copper Snuff Bottle. China Qing Period Qianlong-jiaqing Reign Circa 1800."
Rare copper snuffbox covered with famille rose enamels on a blue background. It is extremely rare to find this type of snuffbox which, being very fragile, have almost all been broken. This one, although very damaged, remains an important testimony to the style appreciated at the imperial court during the reign of Emperor Qienlong. As it is not signed, it is possible that it was created during the following reign, that of Jiaqing. We can date it with certainty to 1800. We could have had it successfully restored, but we preferred to present it in its current state. Height: 60mm
