Description

A Victorian sterling silver cruet stand, Walker Knowles & Co., Sheffield, 1858
This splendid sterling silver cruet stand is a fine example of Victorian craftsmanship, made by Walker Knowles & Co. in Sheffield in 1858. The piece features an elaborate structure with a round base, adorned with neoclassical-style chased details, floral motifs, and an elegant beaded border. It is supported by four ornamental feet, adding both stability and refinement. The set includes a mustard pot and six finely cut crystal bottles, beautifully crafted with geometric decorations and matching silver caps. Some caps have perforations for dispensing spices or powders, while others are sealed for liquids such as oils and vinegars. At the center of the structure, a decorative handle with an elegant pierced oval enhances portability and adds a regal touch to the piece. Spoon not relevant.
