"Van De Velde: "still Life With Shallots""
Vandevelde (Flemish school, late 19th century): "Still life with shallots", oil on panel 13.8 X 12.4 cm, mounted in a pretty gilt frame with wavy patterns 16.5 X 17.5 cm. Varnish a little oxidized, slight scratch in it. This charming still life with Jansenist rigor bathes in a golden light chiseling the shallots ready to be peeled and caressing the bowl and the pitcher. I have not identified the artist, there is a letter (P, D?) intertwined in the initial of the name which can also be read Van de Velde.
