Pair Of Tazzas Del Vecchio Naples XIX Century Grand Tour

Pair of Kylikes-shaped tazzas with red-figure decorations on a black background imitating Attic ceramics.

They feature a geometric motif decoration on both the outer and inner edge and a mythological scene in the center, a male figure driving a chariot pulled by a griffin and a panther, a reference to the god Dionysus and in the other a figure of a knight with a helmet decorated with horns.

One is in exceptional condition, the other has a small chip as seen in the photo, an integral part of the description.

Made in Naples by the Del Vecchio factory in the first half of the 19th century, which was also specialized in pottery reproduced from the ancient, they have an impressed mark Del Vecchio in italics and the N in capital letters underneath
